Hey, I'm Erica!
I am a fine oil painter and graphic designer, born and raised in Southern California. My artistic journey began the moment I could hold a pencil, evolving into a lifelong pursuit of creative expression. I studied under master artist Michael Ward before attending California State University, Northridge, where I majored in Fine Arts. Later, I transferred to the Art Institute of California, Los Angeles, earning a B.S. in Graphic Design.
Art has been my refuge, a means of survival, healing, and transformation. Having endured a turbulent upbringing, my work is deeply personal, shaped by the pain of losing three loved ones to suicide. Through these tragedies, I have come to believe that much of humanity’s suffering stems from a disconnection from ourselves, from nature, and from one another.
With every brushstroke, I strive to bridge this divide. My paintings serve as portals into consciousness. My artistic style blends surrealism, visionary art, and fantasy, weaving together ethereal imagery with deep emotional resonance. As an artist, my purpose is to create work that speaks, not only to me but to those who seek meaning, healing, and inspiration.
My paintings have been exhibited in galleries, private collections, and shows across the globe, each piece carrying the essence of my journey and the message that we are all connected.

Course content
The course has 6 modules for 5+ hours of learning and practicing. It also includes full-length artwork tutorials! You can pause and replay the videos as much as you want. It would be best to take the course in order, because it will start from the basics to lessons at a more advanced level.Â

In my course you'll learn:
Modules 1&2
In this modules we will have a course + teacher introduction. Following with the tools and material we will be using and how to use each of them correctly. We'll see from brushes and surfaces all the way to paints and mediums.
Modules 3&4
We will start this modules by journaling for visual storytelling, making art that has meaning to it. After that we'll move to the artsy part sketching, fixing composition and making a design. Finishing with how to paint a sketch and following with underpainting.Â
Modules 5&6
In this final modules we will see how to create a focal point in our painting, we'll layer backgrounds and our focal point. Finally we'll repeat some layering to create depth and add final details to our masterpiece.

In all my videos, I try to use as many visual elements as possible, such as pictures and references, so you can take some inspiration and you can practice. You can follow each step as I show it to you, and you can comment and compare with other students under each video or in the group so you can resolve any doubts you have and learn new tricks!Â
